Sports Physio

One of the challenges with treating sports injuries is that the injured party rarely wants to rest. Most athletes, whether elite or amateur want to maintain their fitness levels and form during the rehabilitation process. There is nothing more discouraging than getting prepared for a big event only to get an injury weeks beforehand and losing your form as the event draws nearer.

Our team of physiotherapists really enjoy the challenge of helping you maintain your high levels of activity while assisting you in nursing your injury back to pain-free full-function. This can be quite a tall order but we do like a challenge, it’s one of the reasons we have sports physio in our title.

We have helped many athletes to be race-ready (or event ready) even when a sports injury occurs just before a big event. A good example is the London Marathon. As runners increase their mileage a couple of weeks before the event, inevitably, some of them push a little too hard. We have had many runners visit us with a new injury with only one or two weeks before the big day. In those circumstances, we will do everything we can to get you ready – we know how hard you have prepared, the time, the energy, the emotional investment and the sponsorship.

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone out the door on a Friday afternoon, ready for the event they have worked so hard for.

It’s not just runners we treat. We see lots of footballers, rugby players, martial artists, netball players, triathletes, hockey players, boxers, rowers, gymnasts, golfers, tennis players… the list goes on!

If you are a University student, we offer a student discount to help to manage the costs.

P.S. If you are planning to increase your activity levels, it may be worth popping in for an assessment first or even a good whole-body sports massage to reduce the potential of injuring yourself.
