What kind of physiotherapy will I receive?
Musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy, also known as orthopaedic physiotherapy, encompasses a broad range of techniques to address many conditions. These might be spinal issues, back and neck pain, sprains, strains, arthritis, incontinence, bursitis, posture problems, and biomechanical issues.
MSK physio is invaluable for treating sports injuries as well as workplace injuries or ergonomics-related concerns. We can even address unexplained discomforts like persistently sore shoulders or hamstrings. Furthermore, our expertise extends to pre and post-operative training and treatment, optimising surgical outcomes (for more details, refer to the note below on surgery and scans).
Normal Healthy Movement
We recognise the importance of overall movement and function. If you have restricted mobility, instability, or reduced strength, we’re here help. We can enhance your global movement and improve your overall well-being, particularly for individuals in their golden years.
With a team of experienced physiotherapists who thrive on challenges, we also excel in addressing sports injuries. We understand the delicate balance between maintaining fitness and avoiding re-injury during the journey back to peak performance, whether you’re a professional athlete or a complete novice.
Physiotherapy, being a study of how the body moves and functions, offers a wide range of applications that extend beyond conventional expectations.
About Surgery
Regarding surgical considerations, we emphasise the importance of exploring conservative approaches before opting for surgery. The best surgeons acknowledge the wisdom of using musculoskeletal physiotherapy or medication as a first step.
We always recommend having your condition assessed by a physiotherapist to determine if non-surgical treatment can be effective. If conservative measures fall short (and our founder, Matt, can personally attest to this), consulting with a surgeon becomes the next logical step. They may order X-rays or scans to gain a comprehensive understanding of the situation, guiding you toward the best decision for your well-being.
Committed to a comprehensive approach
At our clinic, we are committed to offering comprehensive care and empowering you to make informed choices about your health. Let us guide you on your path to recovery and help you achieve optimal physical function and well-being.
[Important note: Scanning technology is improving all the time and can reveal an immense amount of information. However, scans do not reveal everything and sometimes there will still be questions as to what might be causing a person’s pain.]
